On page 5 (May 4) under sub-heading 'Border Force balks BAA's apology leaflets' you state: 'The less than impressed Border Force ordered the removal of the leaflets from the airport's terminals, earlier this week.'.... then going on to state the excuses of the Border Force.

In my opinion it should not be possible for the Border Force to 'order' BAA to remove what they consider to be a responsible action, so did BAA actually remove the leaflets?

As a frequent flyer to and from Heathrow Airport, I would like to share my disgust concerning the state of the passenger subways!

This is an international airport and the subways look like something from a third world country. In the past three years to the present date I have noticed the lighting is so poor above the conveyors that I do not use them for fear of falling. The illuminated signs are not illumentated, and the rubbish and dirt disgust me. The present CEO, Colin Matthews, promotes 'Every journey better' whereas I feel it is worse. I feel sharing my comments on BAA is the only way to get things done.

Thank you

The latest noise from BAA about the need for a third runway at Heathrow reminds me of a mildly racist joke.

A full 747 from London landed at Sydney and the engines were switched off. Someone asked "What is all that whining?" "Oh that, its all the Brits, they've just arrived in Australia."

STAFF at Heathrow are the stars of the pre-Olympic advertising campaign launched this week.

As Heathrow 'gets set' for the 2012 Games, airport operator BAA unveiled the face of its workforce will light up the giant posters which will be displayed around the capital.

THE government has come under fresh pressure to back a third runway at Heathrow.

Conservative and Labour peers resurfaced the issue on hub capacity constraints and urged ministers to make a U-turn or face deeper economic conditions.

SIX months have been added onto the second phase of the operational freedoms trial at Heathrow.

The Department for Transport (DfT) announced the second phase of the efficiency trial will take off on July 1, 2012 and run until the end of March 2013, not September 30, 2012, as previously outlined.

A FORMER Skyport photographer who roamed the terminals for more than three decades has died aged 81.

Gordon Tilling became part of the furniture at Heathrow until his retirement in the 1990s, built up a glistening portfolio throughout his reign with Brenard Press and Skyport, from 1959 to 1994.

THE number of passengers passing through Heathrow is due to larger and fuller aircraft, according to new traffic figures.

Collectively, the four terminals greeted 5.8 million travellers in April, a slight increase compared to the same period in 2011. Yet it was still another record month for airport owner BAA.

REPLACEMENT staff and frontline workers not participating in strike action coped with queues at Heathrow on Thursday (May 10).

The hub airport's immigration and customs employees who have been under the radar in recent weeks, were said to have performed well under the spotlight, with only some delays during peak times.

A CONCERNED airport worker has blown the lid on two runway safety incidents which could have spelt disaster for Heathrow and raises concerns so close to the Olympics.

In the first 'lucky escape' for the hub airport, five paint lids left on the southern strip following overnight work were found nearly six hours into operations the next morning, highlighting safety and staffing conditions.
